Paul Kneen's highly anticipated exhibition, PAINtings, opened its doors at Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery on 13 April 2024, and with overwhelming support from local art enthusiasts and the community, the exhibition has already welcomed over a thousand visitors in its first week!
PAINtings is presented in a meticulously curated sequence and offers visitors a unique and immersive journey through Kneen's artistic evolution over the past year. Spanning three rooms, the exhibition guides visitors through the various stages of Kneen's distinctive style, from its experimental origins to its final evolution.
Through his dynamic use of colour, texture, and form, Kneen invites viewers to contemplate the complexities of human experience and find solace in the enduring power of the human spirit.
Reflecting on his collection of work, Paul Kneen shares insights into his creative process, stating "While the subject matter may appear sombre, I've infused each painting with a sense of vitality, hinting at the resilience of the human spirit. In today's tumultuous world, it's imperative to acknowledge the collective struggles we face, both internally and externally."
He continues to say, “I am incredibly grateful to Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery for trusting me with their beautiful gallery, and because I will be using the space as my studio during the exhibition, I look forward to meeting everyone who visits.”
