Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery is one of the city’s most historic buildings and is just a four-minute walk from Queensgate Shopping Centre.

This Georgian mansion has served as a museum for over 70 years; seven permanent galleries display inspirational historical and cultural objects. The ground floor has a café and two main exhibition spaces providing a dynamic programme of changing exhibitions for heritage and arts.

Whether you are a family, community group, individual or school, we are sure you will find something to enjoy.

Arriving at the Museum

By Foot & Peddle

We are located on Priestgate with pedestrian access from Cowgate, Cross Street, Trinity Street, Bridge Street and Bouges Boulevard.

Bicycle racks can be found to the right of the Museums entrance. Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery is not responsible for theft or damage to bicycles or property left on site.

By Car

There are no visitor parking facilities available at the Museum & Gallery, except for visitors with access requirements.

For the nearest car parking options please see parking at Queensgate Shopping Centre or local PCC car parks, be advised that the Trinity Street Car Park is for permit holders only between 8am to 6pm Mon – Fri.

By Bus

We are just a four minute walk from the central bus terminus at Queensgate Bus Station, for information on bus timetables and routes please visit plan your journey.

School visits: Coaches can park in front of the Museum during drop off & pick up.

By Rail

After arriving at Peterborough Train Station, follow the City Centre & Cathedral pedestrian route to the right of the stations entrance/exit. The Museum & Gallery is just a six minute walk from the station or a short taxi or cycle ride.
