Events and Lectures

Every third Thursday of the month, 2pm
The Friend's Lectures are a great opportunity to meet like minded people, and learn with enthusiastic and informative speakers, whilst helping to raise funds to support the Museum and Art Gallery.

Members £4, non members £5

September 21st

Around the World in 222 days by Paul Smith.
This talk takes us through Thomas Cooks first guided World Tour. A very different world to travel in
from today. Paul has an archive of the earliest days of the Thomas Cook tours.

October 19th

Mervyn Lindford author and poet will take us through East Anglia with his readings and Poems
related to East Anglia in its many moods. A fascinating speaker who resides in Lavenham has
been immersed in East Anglia for most of his life.

November 16th

The Bridges of Peterborough by Brian Keegan
A fully illustrated talk about the many Bridges of Peterborough - there are more than you realise.
Brian a civil engineer is an authoritative and facilitating speaker who brings the subject alive.

All talks start at the Museum at 2pm on the third Thursday of the month, last about one hour,
followed by questions
