This exhibition is an introduction to The Imaginal Field project with some of the artists that will be involved. The project is based on a 5-acre drained and hard-farmed field in Fenland, recently sown with wildflower species and a new hedgerow. The field provides the perfect opportunity to get into relationship with the land, listen and respond to nature through art. The Imaginal Field project brings together nationally renowned artists whose creative work is inspired by natural surroundings and local cultures to work directly with communities in Fenland through gatherings, workshops and events. Over a year artists will have residency and experience the landscape through a unique space. They will create new visual and multimedia arts based on the area's heritage, traditions, soils, and biodiversity. The Imaginal Field is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
