Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery is delighted to announce the opening of Life at the Lido, a new exhibition celebrating 90 years of one of the city’s most cherished attractions. Running from 16 April to 30 May 2026, the free exhibition invites visitors to explore the history, community spirit, and continuing appeal of Peterborough’s iconic outdoor pool.
Bringing together memories, photographs, and personal stories from generations of visitors, Life at the Lido captures the joy, nostalgia, and cultural significance of this much-loved venue. The exhibition has been created with the support of Lido enthusiasts and draws inspiration from a book curated by the Friends of Peterborough Lido.
A highlight of the exhibition is a detailed timeline showcasing key milestones and memorable moments across the Lido’s 90-year history. From competitive galas to community gatherings, the display reflects the long-term role the Lido has played in the lives of Peterborough locals and visitors alike.
The exhibition also leads up to The Lido’s Big Birthday weekend (28 - 31 May), which will feature a programme of entertainment and celebrations, and Vivacity is inviting the people of Peterborough to come together and mark this significant milestone.
