Activities

Become a trainee nurse at Peterborough Infirmary and go about your duties:

In the operating theatre
Matron Cavell is visiting us to see how we train our new nurses. Help to get the operating theatre all ready for the doctor as you find out more about Edith Cavell and the changes in the nursing profession over time.

In the hospital kitchen
Meet Eve Hall and use original objects as you help with the chores including making pastry and cleaning the numerous sheets. You will also make a nurse’s hat.

Edward’s home
One of today’s patients is a child and has a burn injury. Look at a Victorian kitchen similar to the patient’s. What do you think happened to him and how could it be prevented from happening again?

Return to School Sessions

“It was all so well organised. The fact that the staff were dressed up for role play made it so much more interesting. The children learned so much and now want to learn more.”
