Step into one of the most dramatic chapters in English history — the Tudor era. From Henry VII’s rise to power to the reign of Elizabeth I, this exhibition explores over a century of intrigue, transformation, and legacy.

Discover the lives and rivalries of the Tudor monarchs and the splendour and scandal of the royal court. Through fascinating artefacts, displays, and local stories, uncover the connections between the Tudors and Peterborough — from the burial of Queen Katharine of Aragon at Peterborough Cathedral to Neville Place, a large Tudor manor house that stood where the museum is today!

The Katharine of Aragon Festival

Commemorating 29th January 1536, when Henry VIII's first wife was buried at Peterborough Cathedral after her death in exile at Kimbolton Castle. She still lies in Peterborough Cathedral today and the occasion is marked by a celebration and a programme of events on a Tudor theme.
