Group visits

Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery welcomes groups of many sizes, however we ask that larger groups notify the Museum in advance. Self-led groups of 15 or more people, must contact reception on 01733 864 663 or email museum@peterboroughlimited.co.uk. Please give at least three days advance notice of your visit.

All of our tours are available for private bookings by arrangement (subject to availability). We can also offer group guided tours of Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery by arrangement. Our tours are ideal for coach parties, works outings, clubs, societies and birthday or Christmas parties.

Many of our tours are also suitable for school groups and tie in with the National Curriculum and local studies. All of our tours can be tailored to suit your requirements, including the provision of refreshments. Tours last approximately 90 minutes. Peterborough Museum doesn’t just tell the fascinating story of the city’s history. It is also reputedly the city’s most haunted building. There are reportedly eight different ghosts that haunt the building's rooms and corridors. There have been reports of unexplained noises, footsteps, smells, mysterious lights, and orbs. Staff, visitors, and contractors have had experiences of the paranormal at the Museum.

Peterborough Museum runs daytime and evening guided walks and tours around Peterborough city centre, providing a fascinating, fun and informative look at the city's past.

• All tours meet outside Peterborough Museum's main entrance, Priestgate PE1 1LF. Please note there is no parking at the Museum.
• All tours last approximately 90 minutes.
• Tours are suitable for wheelchair users with the exception of the Candlelit Tour of the Museum, unless otherwise stated. For further access information, please see our Accessibility page.
• Tours go ahead whatever the weather! Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
• Pre-booking is recommended for all tours to avoid disappointment.
