Our Galleries

From Mansion to Museum, discover the changing faces of Peterborough Museum and the city in which it sits, as you explore millions of years of Peterborough’s history, from Jurassic Seas and Roman fortresses, to the advent of the railways and modern industry.

Our Collections

Peterborough Museum holds a wide ranging collection amassed over 130 years. Many objects have national and international importance, such as the Jurassic marine reptiles, finds from Prehistoric and Roman Peterborough, and Napoleonic craftwork created by prisoners at Norman Cross.

Schools & Learning

Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery offers a wide and varied programme to support pupils’ learning of all ages. Can’t see what you’re looking for? Contact us and we’ll see what we can do!

Our award-winning programme has the museum collection at its heart and offers immersive experiences which cannot be replicated in the classroom. We also offer an outreach programme for those unable to visit, and a CPD programme for teachers to support the teaching of local history.
